Lesson: The Fundamentals Of Editing

Today we had a refresher of setting up Final Cut Pro before you started uploading any footage etc.

This Included changing the timecode settings from 1 hour to 10 hours, which is the current industry standard.

Also changing the automatic save from the defaulted 30 minutes to a much safer 5 minutes.

After this we were given some footage that we then had to label for next session. For the remainder of the lesson we looked at the opening sequence of Election (Payne, 1999) in order to look at the effectiveness of using a voice-over, as well as understanding the difficulty. 

We also used this as an opportunity to discuss how to review the editing, as we are supposed to analyse the editing of any form of media in at least a weekly basis.
